Our Adoption Profile Film & Giveaway FundraiserS!!

I'm beside myself because today is f i n a l l y the day to launch this giveaway. It's like Christmas morning over here. Honestly. Just hand me a Christmas tree & you couldn't tell the difference. I've stressed too much over this giveaway and lost too much sleep. Fearing that not a soul would enter. That we wouldn't raise any money. That no one would share about the giveaway. That we would fail. & then I remembered, that whatever happens, fail or succeed, the Lord is in control. And I can rest assured that He will provide in whatever means He wants.

If you are new here or if you've been following along for a while, here's a quick film as to why this post is even happening. This is our adoption profile film, meaning, this is the film our birth mother will watch as an introduction to us. Totally nerve racking. We couldn't be more thankful to our film maker and friend, Evan Logan, for all the hard work and dedication he put into this film. He's the best of the best. No doubt.

So, husband and I are adopting. Obviously.

We know without a doubt that the Lord has called us to adopt domestically this time around.

Our home study was recently approved, so now we are just waiting for a birth mother to pick us. 

Our sweet little C is a big brother.

If I could have it my way, adoption would be free. But since no one is electing me president or the changer of adoption laws and such, I will gladly pay. No amount of money is too much to keep me from getting my baby.

BUT, we broke. I'm a SAHM and husband is a pastor. In case you didn't know, that means we gots zero moneys. I started panicking when the price of adoption showed its ugly face. Then the Lord silently reminded me that this is His will, so I can rest that He will provide. I started googling ideas on how to raise money. That's when I met McCall. This sweet lady "mentored" me on all things adoption fundraising and here we are.

My sweet friend, Allison, recently opened up a vintage earring shop, Burdees. She sells, obviously, vintage earrings. Let me just say a few things:

1. I never wear earrings. Unless I'm going on a fancy date or to a wedding (and most times not even then) earrings aren't coming along. Not sure why... most times I feel to gaudy in them. Also, I happen to have elf ears. It's true. Once in middle school, a teacher pointed to me and said "you will be PERFECT to play the christmas elf. Just look at those ears". True true story.

... so with that being said, I was a little hesitant when she first emailed me about her new shop, then I went and stalked her Etsy. I QUICKLY fell in love with all her options. When I do wear earrings, they are mostly always studs. Her shop is only studs... sooooo basically it was elf ear heaven.

2. There is some type of black hole in my jewelry drawer where earring backs and bobby pins fall deep into the abyss. If I had a dollar for every time I lost one of those little suckers, I'd be supa rich. So when I opened her ever so precious wrapping to discover TWO options for earring backs, I literally did a little jig. It's like she knew about my black hole and punched it in the face.

3. I love wood. Let's be honest... who doesn't? So I had to immediately pick her black wooden studs for myself. These little guys haven't left my ears since. Honest. I went from a non-wearing earring elf eared gal to a who cares about the elf ears look at my sweet vintage earrings gal. That's a big improvement.

yay! I love giveaways! Almost as much as I love my husband. Okay..... probably not even as close as that much (not close at al) but I do love giveaways!

So I redid my blog ....again. I hate how much I love change sometimes. My plates are plain brown so I can change colors of my kitchen whenever, my comforter is white so I can change the color of my pillows or walls, my clothes are mostly neutrals (although I did buy a brightly colorful flannel plaid shirt at Target the other day... a little retail therapy for taking my Praxis 2) So, of course, when I said that I redid my blog so that it could stay constant... I was lying. Flat out to your face lying. I'm sorry. Im working on this. Im going to try and force myself to keep this blog layout for atleast 2 months... but don't bet your life on it.... :)

I kept things more simple this time around. I really do like it. More me I think. Your probably wondering when Im going to talk about the giveaway... good grief. Hold your horses.. I'm getting there. Promise:)

I met Ramsey through blogger. She sent me a sweet email for encouragement and advice. We have never met. But alas, she found my blog and we've been cyber friends ever since. TRASH TO TREASURES PARTY 7

This morning I did not go to ANY yardsales....SHOCK!!! Last night the Hubby & I, along with some great friends, went down to Oxford to hear Josh's friend, Sanders Bohlke, perform. Visit Sanders website...He is so unbelievably talented! Anyways, we didn't get home until around 2. Needless to say, I was exhausted. Also, the Hubby finally had a Saturday off and I couldn't find it in me to part him this morning. He's too cute:)

My sister, Lindsay, had a birthday this past week. I knew exactly what I was going to do for her! She had complimented my trays in the past, So I knew she would love this one!

I gave it a coat of chalkboard paint. Painted the sides in her colors: Green, Yellow, & Brown....

I didn't know what to do with it for a while. It was such an odd shape...then it hit me... I coated it with AGAIN chalkboard paint & a little blue.... &&& VIOLA!

Today I'm spending the entire day with the Hubby! It's the first "Saturday Day" we have had since we were dating!
