Purple Hair, Don't Care

At my last hair appointment, I was in the mood to do something new. That meant either cut all this hair off (been growing it for 6 years) or do something extremely different with my color. I went with the latter...

I LOVED IT! it was so fun to do something so different and the color looked amazing. It lasted for about a week and half before it washed out to platinum blonde. I was a little disappointed about how quickly it faded. If I do purple again, I'll ask for something more permanent. Still undecided. Part of me would love to do my entire head purple... but I don't think I can get husband on board for that. We'll see....:)

g r e e n lipstick.

there are some women who hoard lipsticks, chapsticks, and gloss like an 80 year old woman hoards just about everything, and then there are some women who don't. I am of the latter. I have two shades of lipstick at the moment and one is lost. I just can't bring myself to pay good money for something that is only going to get smudged on C's cheeks every waking moment of the day. So, when I saw this lipstick on Syd's blog, it was like meeting an old friend for the first time. I quickly added it to my pinterest wish list and as luck would have it (or really I just have a super thoughtful sister to be) my brother's fiance bought it for me for Christmas. And I haven't stopped wearing it since. Oh, and it's g r e e n.

This sweet little tube of goodness matches the PH balance in your lips. So, it goes from green to different shades of pink ranging neon to reddish pink. Oh, and it stays on alllllll day. alllll day son (a quote from Schmidt on New Girl, and I regret i had to explain that). No joke. It's like a scientist got to thinking "what gloss can be personalized person to person, but better yet be used while giving millions of kisses to sweet baby cheeks without coming off". AHH HA. Green lipstick. or technically known as Hare Magic Moroccan Lipstick. And then it's like the scientist thought "now let's make it affordable for all the SAHM's out there who be broke". YES. it's only $4. Granted the green case is kinda cheaply made. but i didn't care. it worked.

^^before and after.

Some girl friends came over & i pretty much forced them to try it. I really wanted to see if the color in fact had a range. And it's a little hard to tell in these photos, but it definitely did in person. Aren't they beauts?

So, basically you need to buy this. like now. Bc it changes colors, stays on all day, and is only FOUR dollars. I'm going in for a life time supply. Anybody as amazed by this as I am? I feel like a little seven year old boy "loooook mom it's greeeeeen". Anyways, it's boss.

take us out shameless bathroom selfies...

pinterest? more like failtrest.

Sunday night right before I went to bed, I had a stroke of genius. I've pinned several hair tutorials on Pinterest, and I decided to try one.

Step 1. put a head band around your head
Step 2. tuck wet hair around head band on both sides, and in the back.
Step 3. sleep
Step 4. wake up to this:

Step 5. Presume that everything is going to work out great so continue getting ready
Step 6. With 30 minutes left before you leave, take hair down.
Step 7. Die. your hair turned out nothing like said "normal girl on pinterest who just happened to think of this hair style and it turned out absolutely beautiful for her"
Step 8. Brush out, put hair spray in. Pray that magically helps

Step 9. Panic. Don't be fooled by the picture above. Those curls only happen right there in the front. The back of my head was completely straight. It was the worst. I was rocking a curly mullet.

Step 10. With now only 10 minutes before you need to walk out the door, assemble hair in a pony tail, and pretend this is what you were going for all along.

Step 11. never try pinterest hair tutorials ever again. Or at least on a day where you don't have to go anywhere. lesson learned.

p.s. I actually really liked that pony tail so I guess I didn't have a total pinterest fail. whoop!
p.s.s In case you were wondering, Canaan slept through the night. He fell asleep at 9 on the dot. Never woke up even once. He woke up super happy at 7:40 this morning. That kid.  Swear he is the best.
p.s.s.s >I don't think that's even a real thing right there- This POST really encouraged me today. SO thankful for other bloggers who live Jesus. Read it. Thanks Al.
