::OPERATION CLASSROOM VOLUME 3:::

Slowly but surely I am making progress on my classroom. I just work on it a little bit everyday. Here are a few updates: (flowers above are my hall passes, got them all for 50cents at a yardsale)

I finished my bulletin board... somewhat. not my favorite thing but it's functional!

This hangs outside my classroom. Everyday, I will write what my students need for the day on it. Great way for them to know and me not get asked a million times. BIG thanks to a fellow teacher for this idea. Whiteboard was $1 at a yardsale. I painted it.

Remember this teaser from my last post:
This is what I did with them! They hang over the groups. They are for sure my favorite thing in the room and only cost 6 bucks to make! I put the tutorial link in my last classroom post.

Now to my favorite part of the room so far, my desk! I know I will be spending alot of time in my room over the next year (aka my home away from home) and I really wanted it to be a bright colorful room that my kids will enjoy coming into. My little nook of the room is rad if I do say so myself. It's hard to tell from my iphone pics & the crappy lighting how well all of the fabrics and colors coordinate but you get the idea.
All fabric came from Joanns. I spent around $30 for all the fabric in my room (desk, canvas, bulletin board, and chair). Lamp was free, red file cabinet 3 bucks, black file cabinet free, vase was 2 bucks, wicker basket 3 piece storage set was a gift, Yellow paper ball was free, Rug was 4 bucks, desk supplies.... no comment. let's just say Walmart got the best of me:(
I'm so incredibly thankful that the Lord has provided the money to get my room ready. I still haven't spent a dime of my own money on it. The Lord is so good.

Still to do:
Hang everything on my walls. Hopefully, this will happen Monday.
THAT'S IT!!!!! I still will have administrative stuff to do but as far as my class being decorated, I will be done by Monday, Lord willing!!

CHRISTMAS IN SEPTEMBER: {BEST YARD SALE EVER}

Today was Christmas in September. My husband goes to a local seminary and every year they hold a HUGE yardsale for the seminary families. An entire gym is filled with tables full of good loot and furniture for you to put your name in for drawings. My husband I got some great stuff last year! This year was even better!!!

First off we won a $125 dollar gift card to Wal-mart!!! Mr. K was super excited because that means he gets to buy a little happy for his xbox:) They also gave us a gift baggy full of germ-x, body spray, cheddar popcorn, Dora band-aids, a bag of blow-pops (my fav!), and another $25 gift card to Olive Garden!!!! Oh yeah, I told you, It's like christmas day! I mean, It's the best. So thankful for that Ministry:

So here is what we got... EEEEK I'm still giddy about:

First up:
This will most likely be for a future baby room (distant distant future by the way) or a Guest bedroom once we get a house. I may paint it or leave it white and just give it another top coat. New handles are a complete Definite! I was the only one to put a ticket in for this! What is wrong with people???

My Favorite of the day:
I was also the only person who wanted these lovely beauties. Seriously, was everyone else completely blind? They are in perfect condition and although I'm no sold on the fabric. That is a doable fix! Maybe even slap some paint on the wooden legs.

Okay, now prepare... I may have gone a little overboard. There were probably 25 lamps to choose from. Josh wouldn't let me have them all:( However I did get 6!! YAY!

These will all get a nice slap of spray paint & new shades... or actually, I've got something in store. something crafty! I can't wait to try it out when we get a house!

My Favorite lamps:
Oh don't worry, these shades don't reach the ceiling, they are just up to my elbow!!!! I will definitely be chunking them I think, but the bases are to die for... I'm thinking teal.. or orange. They will eventually go on our bedside side table.. but for now.. storage!

This is Mr. K's favorite lamp:
It will be SO adorable with some spray paint. I've realized today that spray paint will become my best friend! I'm thinking of re-doing the lamp shade with some new fabric! Those little glass jars are adorable! They look like old milk glasses. Not sure what I'll do with them, but I love them!

The next few things are just some odd and ends that we grabbed:
The wicker basket was actually holding purses. I took all the purses and snatched it..a Magazine holder in its future maybe?? The striped triangles are shelves.. I dont know the technical term. They will for sure be painted!! I loved the pictures frame (also will be painted). The rooster is just too cute & I may or may not paint it. The other gaudy gold thing will FO SHOW be spray painted.

The Last few things:
Josh and I have only one piece of luggage to our name. This black piece was in PERFECT condition! Josh was really excited about this one too! I'm so glad he could find some goodies for him. I will paint the mirror too. && I lurrvvveee the plate stand.

Today was so so fun & I'm so thankful to Bellevue Baptist Church for putting on the entire thing! It was such a blessing! This was our last year to get to attend because Josh will be graduating in May!

Did you get any yard sale finds today! leave a link in my comments! I wanna see & steal ideas HA!:)

IT'S ALMOST THAT TIME AGAIN....

This morning, I achieved the impossible. I got my husband to go yard-saling. Yep, I'm amazing:) He may not admit it, but he secretly wanted too:). We got up bright and early and headed to the town over. Most of the yard sales were duds. However, I did find a great basket I plan on spray painting:

I paid a whole buck for it:) Oh yard sales. How I've missed thee. I can't wait for the season to come back in full blown. Even though most were duds, we had such a blast. I told old yard sale horror stories, we saw a man/elf, and got some yummy breakfast. Thanks Hubby for going with me.. I love you!

TRASH TO TREASURE PARTY:DIY FLOWER HEADBAND

I know I have been more than absent to my poor, lonely blog. There hasn't been anytime to blog or do anything crafty:( School work has taken over my life. Today was the first time in a long time, I've had time to myself. My hubby is working till midnight doing inventory so I had the night to my lonesome. I love you hunny but WHOOP! I had time to do some crafting!

I love the flower headbands, but the Hubs and I are on the Zero budget bc we have ZERO money. I've seen some fellow bloggers make them, so I decided to take a whack at it:

I had this old shirt & my MIL gave me some doily (spell), I have like 12 of them. The great thing is I didn't have to cut it to make it, so I can restore back to original whenever!

I just wodded up the doily and sewed it together. I made a little loop in the doily to slip the headband through :

I love it just by itself but then decided to spruce it up, I cut about an inch wide strip, I didn't cut straight or worry about jagged edges (I thought it would add some character). I then did a simple baste stitch & sewed the edges together.
I just pushed the bottom through the center whole on the grey flower. & VOILA!

It's a little on the big side but I kinda LOVE it! Since I didn't sew the grey flower on the doily, it allowed me to change it out. I decided to cut the shirt into rounded squares. Again, I let it be jagged and not straight at ALL! I layered different size patches and sewed three buttons in the center from the same shirt :

I think the plain grey is my fav. Just so sweet & simple. However, I had another sweet idea, I added the grey patch flower with the doily for another look!

I love having all the options! I even plan on doing another color flower to interchange. It literally took me about 30 minutes to make all three. It felt so good to craft again! I'm ready for summer so it can become a full time thing! ahh, summer... where are you??

LINK UP YOUR LATEST DIY! I wanna see some DIY, Im missing them!

I'M BACK:)

So, I know its been a ridiculous long time since I've blogged! School and work have taken over my life literally! All I have done the past few days is school and work 24/7. I'm on the down hill slope with school & SO EXCITED! I passed the Praxis (a major test I had to pass if I want to continue in school) That was a major GREAT thing!

I have done a few fun things to help lower the stress! Last weekend a big group of newly married coupled friends went downtown to hang out! We had so much fun! We walked around downtown Memphis & did a little shopping!
Then we went to eat at The FAMOUS Rendezvous! It was so much fun just being with our good friends! After that Josh's band, Philadelphia, played at a local coffee shop!

Me & Josh in front of a Memphis Trolly!

Here's all the Girls before eating at Rendezvous!
[Audrey Williams (my sister), me, Austin May, Brittany Dalomba, & Lindsay Stevenson(my other sister)]

This weekend was a bit of a break too! Friday night my husband and I, along with the Dalomba's, went to a yardsale & the opening Memphis Tiger game!

I got this Christmas Tree removal bag for 50cents!
These adorable halloween plates were only $3 for the set! I spent $3.50 total!

THE MEMPHIS GAME! GO TIGERS! We won by 82-53! WHOOP!
Me & The Mister!

Brittany & me! We spent the whole time talking about blogging, friends, HGTV, and other girl talk!
The boys, on the other hand, were SUPER into the game!

Afterward, We headed to Sonic for some yummy slushes & had some typical absurd conversations, like always! Today, I had to work on a group project & do some overtime at ARP! Right now, I'm enjoying yummy dinner & a movie with the Hubs... and a little school work for dessert!

I hope you all had a great weekend & aren't as stressed with school as me:)
