I DID IT!!! I finally finished my table. BAD news, it only took me two months : GOOD news I DONT CARE, IT'S DONE!! Josh and I ate our first meal [of course Sushi] on it the other night. We were so giddy & happy the whole time we were eating:) Okay ENOUGH blabber, on to the REDO:
I'm a dork & forgot to snap a pic of the my table before, this table is almost EXACTLY like the one I have :
The first coat on the table :
I wanted to do something a little different on the legs & chairs. I took black paint and scrubbed it down on the legs... Here's the Before :
[how it really looks]
Next, I wanted to be even more drastic & different so I started nailing upholstery nails around the table....yep all 150+ of them, BY HAND!
SO, Here's the big FINALE :
I'm ABSOLUTELY IN LOVE with my table! BIG THANKS to my husband for his AWESOME support. Ignore the DISGUSTING light fixture. I live in an apartment so those are the standard light fixtures. The Hubby & I have been debating on what to do about it. but for now it stays...SAD :..anyways : AHH, I'm going to go stare at my table some more:)
[did you notice the metal rings under the table...wait till you see what I did with them!]
p.s my giveaway is coming soon! Be SURE to follow so you will know when I post it! & I'm participating in :

Great job on the table.....it doesn't matter how long it took you...you finished a project with fabulous results!!
That's very pretty! I like your details, it really turned out nice!

Oh my goodness. I know that a lot of HARD work, but boy was it worth it! You have a beautiful dining table and chairs now. Good job!!!
DANG girl!! That is so awesome!! We are going to re-do our kitchen table too... But we haven't had any time.. Sometimes I wonder if we will ever have time :-)
Ah, so nice! That is one big table. I will tell you, I had to remove about 500 upholstery nails from a chair project I am working on, no fun. I always loved using them, but removing them is not fun. Great job on this table!
You did a great job. Looks wonderful! I love painted furniture. The nail heads really make it unique.
Those upholstery nails add such a great, beautiful dimension. love the table!!!
Oh my gosh Katie...over 150 upholstery nails! I'm impressed. Great work.
Thanks for sharing!
Living it up at Lakewood,
Cindy
Looks amazing! Those nails totally make it, too.
Great job on the table! Looks like you really put a lot of hard work into it! I think it paid off!
Awesome. Take that fixture down, spray it black and if you have the budget, got to lowes or hd and get new globes. They're only a few bucks each and you'll have yourself a new light. :)
Amazing transformation! That was an awesome insight into a great look for your dining room.
Wow, that nailing must have taken some time! You really did come up with a big makeover. Congrats :).
I know you are renting, so try turning the arms upside down on the light fixutre and adding in some small bulbs then put the clip on shades on them. It will still be brass, but it looks oh so prettier. I have the same light fixture and spray painted mine pink. Soooo much better.
Great table! Love the nail head detail. Make sure you sign up twice for the Purdy Paintbrush giveaway!
You are so talented!! I am not that crafty but would love to do some projects around here!
What a great transformation. I hope that table brings you many years of joy and happy memories!
Lovely job! I especially like how the chairs turned out -- they look so completely different than they did. Wonderful work!

What a fabulous project! And I LOVE the canvas'. The whole room looks awesome! Found you via Kimba's DIY. So glad I did.
You sound like me, Im such a slacker! You did a great job on the table, it must have taken some patience to tack all those nails in!
Your hard work certainly paid off...looks fabulous, especially the nail heads - great touch!
You did a marvelous job! Isn't it fun refinishing things?
It all looks gorgeous, have some more sushi.
Looks great!
Smiles!
Michelle
Those nails had me at hello! So cool!
Your table turned out beautiful. I used to have that light fixture in another house I lived in. You could paint it or change out the globes until you found something you liked.
I also like your cool photo collage.

I love that!!!!!!! I "heart" tacks.
Right on, that's a fabulous transformation! I really like the addition of the upholstry nails. That's really unexpected.
Love the table, the nailing done on the edge - the dining room is very updated! I love the pictures hanging it too!
Love upholstery nails and we used them on our living room fireplace surround and I just love them!
The upholstery nails are a great idea. Almost makes it look like the top of the table is leather! How clever of you. I can't imagine hammering 150 by hand...lol.
How did your decide on the upolstery nails? That is such a great idea on a table. It creates some interesting detail. It looks great.

I'm just thankful i only had three chairs to sand instead of five. :) Great job!
Really a cute idea, the nailheads. Sort of gives it a leather like look. NICE!
That looks fantastic! The nails were such a great idea

You did a great job! And I love the added detail of the nail heads. Kudos for finishing such a big project!
Hello~ ~I did a table this week too only I didn't have 5 chairs to do! Yikes, hope you had a sprayer for your job. I used a brush.
It looks great. Yes, I will excuse the light fixture I've got one of those too and I can't remove it till I get a replacement and I want a crystal chandy! Oh be still my heart.

Looks great in that space; but you must have one patient hubby....2 months, did you say!!! WOWEEE...but better slow and right than fast and wrong , I say!!
Hi, I saw you at DIY Show Off and had to comment. I just finished a project with nailhead trim myself that I'll be posting shortly. IMO it is definitely worth the effort you put into nailing each individually. I used the strips of nailhead trim and am not entirely pleased with the result. Yours looks great.
I love this table and what a smart idea with the nail heads! Thanks so much for linking up with us! ~Ashley
Looks so high end and gorgeous! You were so smart to add that trim!
I just did a similar treatment to an antique table (sans the nailhead trim) and I must say yours is much nicer. Great transformation!
peace, cindy
It looks so great. I love the nailheads. It adds so much. Thanks for sharing.
